I’m going to make Sunday my regular day to update you on what’s been happening over at All about Needlepoint.
I’m adding new content, usually several pages, and now the site has a blog as well. That means you will also be able to read the pages through an RSS reader.
The Needlepoint Patterns Free Directory has about half the categories as active links — that’s the good news. The bad news is the categories left include some big ones, like Plastic canvas, geometrics, and Christmas. Those will take a little while. As I add new pages to this, often entries are also added to other pages, so check back often in the areas you like best.
I have also added two new major sections, one on adapting different needle arts and other things to needlepoint and one on stitch guides.
The adaptation area has links to basic information about converting a particular craft or activity to needlepoint and often includes some free charts and some pictures. Articles from this month here at Nuts about adaptation are going to also find a home here.
The stitch guides area is also going to be a big one, with lots of instruction for people who love to stitch painted canvases. I probably get more questions about how to stitch a painted canvas than on any other subject. You’ll find lots of this information, as I get the pages constructed, here.
Because the RSS feed is now active, new pages will always be marked with a box in the corner for the RSS feed. I’m also planning on adding the older pages to the feed, as soon as I figure out how to do this, so the feed might be a bit higglety-pigglety for a little while. The box allows you to add the feed to some of the popular readers.
I’d give you a preview of what I’ll be adding this week, but at the moment I don’t have a specific plan, other than to do more of the patterns pages. But check back next Sunday for a round-up of what has been added.
