A lower case B and a fun stitch using two threads combine to make this pretty block on our sampler.

The alphabet is Arcadian 26 from Tink’s Alphabets Tantalizing and Terrific.

Variation of Criss-cross Hungarian

The stitch is a Inside-out Criss-cross Hungarian. This stitch takes Criss Cross Hungarian, used in the forst E block and reverses the length of the stitches. The longer stitches are now on the outside.

I further varied the stitch by making it from two threads, Silk & Ivory for the longer stitches and Very Velvet for the shorter. What I find instriguing is how such a small change can make such a difference. Criss-cross Hungarian has a very woven look to it. The inside-out version looks less woven and more like a series of diamonds.

It’s a fun stitch to make and easy to vary.
