Drawing on Canvas — a Great Tutorial

February 14, 2009

It’s hard in your needlepoint life to get away with never having to draw a design on canvas.

You see a project in a magazine and it has a line drawing.

Your doing ANG’s Stitch of the Month project — there is another one.

You need to make an outline for a project — whoops there’s a line drawing.

You see a drawing you want to do in needlepoint — there it is again.

It’s like the pile of money in the GEICO commercial — it’s everywhere.

Stitching from a drawing you have made on canvas can be wonderful, or you can be disappointed in the results. You need to take care to make your drawing easy to stitch.

Judy harper has put together a magnificent tutorial showing you just how to do this.

The design is simple, but, as she points out, it “has the elements needed for learning and for practice.” She then shows you how to put together the drawing on the canvas.

Great stuff!
