Judy Harper has posted another great freebie on her site. I’m really intrigued by this piece because there is so much you can do with it.
You can, of course, vary the colors of the border or of the jewels (what about one in birthstone colors as a gift). But I keep thinking about other things.
You could leave out the center motif entirely, and stitch it all in Basketweave. Then use it as a base to display a wonderful button or pin.
You could replace the star with a dramatic Jean Hilton stitch and add Basketweave or T Stitch around it.
Not only are you learning For-way Bargello, you have found a charming border idea and made something unique which didn’t take long at all.
