Somehow when the sun is so bright it hurts to go out, and my cat stays away from his favorite sleeping spot (my computer) because it’s too hot, it seems silly to be thinking about falling leaves, snowy days, and warm fireplaces.
But if you want your needlepoint finished in time for gifts later this year, that’s exactly what you need to do.
From September until December is the busiest time of the year for finishers.
Many shops have already posted their year-end finishing deadlines and more will come out soon. You can expect:
- Halloween deadlines to be 2-3 months ahead of Christmas deadlines
- Deadlines for large holiday projects to be well before those for ornaments
- Shops to have different deadlines for different kinds of items because finishers set their own deadlines
- Some shops with no deadlines — that’s because they do finishing in house
If your project is due sometime in November or early December, use the Halloween deadlines to be safe.
If you are like me, this means you need to get stitching right now!
