Joni has been doing an amazing series on trick and techniques to hide traveling threads when you have open canvas in your needlepoint.
She’s covered one way to hide them in Cross Stitches and in a recent column she’s given us another fantastic method.
It’s an interesting approach because each arm of the cross is stitched separately, as you can see by the picture above.
As it is, it looks more like a minimalist eyelet than a cross to me. But Joni has a solution — add another stitch to hide the break.
Stitch it in the same color for an almost seamless look, or use a contrasting color or texture to make it stand out.
