In this incredibly detailed post from Joni Stevenson, she looks at the question of coverage when it comes to stitches such as Cross Stitch.
I know for myself that I find stitches with incomplete coverage very frustrating. And I’ve done various things to try to correct this. Sometimes I’ve picked a more lofty thread, so the space is filled better. Sometimes I’ve added another layer to a stitch or filled in in more (I’ve done both of these with Rice Stitch). Sometimes I’ve run threads under the stitch turning it into a trammed stitch.
These all work pretty well if the stitch overall is open. But what if it only happens from time to time?
That’s where this great article comes in to improve your stitching.
