My favorite thing that I’ve stitched was a set of tea towels for my grandmother when I was 12. My mom taught me to embroider over my summer vacation and I made the tea towels using a vintage design (one from my mom’s collection when she was a kid) for my grandmother’s birthday.

Whenever we get together at her house I wash the dishes and she brings out the towels and I dry!

My favorite was a piece that said “Tomorrow I plan to be more assertive … if it’s ok with you” I made it back when I was a teenager and it really applied to me back then.

when i was in high school i made a sampler for my mom. Very rustic but full of detail. I aged it slightly as well. SHe had just moved into a post and beam home that had been in the process of being built for years (we dug the foundation by hand) and i wanted a heartfelt housewarming gift for her, sorry no pic!!

Among other things, I’ve cross-stitched a different Christmas stocking for each member of my family. My favorite stitching project is the first stocking I did, of Father Christmas, for my husband. No picture, but I’ll work on that.

I have to say that my first project that I truly love and have hanging in a shadow box is hand stitching a crazy guilt block. I just learned some stitches and started using beads and buttons for embellishments and it was so much fun and I finished it in just a few days. I love it cause I enjoyed doing it, I was able to start and finish in just a short amount of time…..

You know what? I’ve never got to do a needlepoint. But , I’ve always wanted to do bargello. I love this site and will learn to do needlepoint before I go on the other side of the grass.grin…..Good luck on your giveaway and maybe I’ll win something. Eileene

It may sound hokey, but my favorite needlepont project was my first – stitching pansies on preprinted pillowcases. They came out very cute and, being my first project, it holds a special place in my memories.
