It’s being talked about in needlepoint circles and we should all be good consumers. There are people copying and selling stitch guides on eBay that are in violation of copyright laws.
Let’s take a moment to be clear on this. You can sell a stitch guide if:
- you wrote it
- the person who wrote it has given you permission to do so (i.e. designers selling guides written by others for them)
- you bought it for purposes of resale from an authorized seller (i.e. guides sold in shops)
- you bought it and are selling your original copy (i.e. the guide for a canvas you’ve stitched)
What you cannot do legally is make copies of a guide you have gotten and sell them.
Be a wise consumer and be sure what you buy can be sold legally.
