Maker Faire – It’s this Weekend!

May 28, 2009

I’ve been asked to write a post about what I’ll be doing at Maker Faire this weekend. I’m so excited I can hardly sleep. I think it will be fantastic, so come on by!

Throughout the show I will be demonstrating how to stitch Bargello and how to make your own original designs using templates. Every hour I will be starting a new Bargello piece using templates and leftover threads and canvas. Every piece uses different Bargello pattern and many are for objects which you can finish yourself.

There will be a display of over 50 different finished Bargello pieces to give you an idea of the wonderful things you can make using this simple technique. The daffodil box pictured above is just one of them.

I have Bargello instructions on a postcard which will be available to people and will be there to talk and show you how to do Bargello throughout the show.

So come on down!

Maker Faire is at the San Mateo County Fairgrounds near the SF Airport and will be open from 10-8 on Saturday and 10-6 on Sunday.

Hi Janet, I will be at the Faire and looking for you. I am the editor of The Needle Threader for the SMAC-EGA and will be working a few hours with them. My husband and son are coming for the machines, etc.

I hope I can make it. It sounds like a very cool event.
