At last, here it is, the nautilus shell. It took me longer to get scanned than it took to stitch.
Don’t you just love technology!
I wanted to scan it on my DH’s scanner. which appears to have the lights on but nobody home. And since my printer thinks printing about 25% of the dots makes for “best” quality, I couldn’t print either. So I decided it was time to buy a new all-in-one.
This should not have been hard. I knew the brand I wanted (Epson), the price I wanted to pay (under $200) and that it needed to work with a Mac.
No problem, found the printer and took the card to the register to check out.
Problem, they’re out of stock.
No problem. It will be here Tuesday or Wednesday.
Problem, it wasn’t, repeatedly. And when I called to ask about it, I was told they had “unpredented demand” — and this for a printer which wasn’t on sale!
Finally after many calls, it came in Friday, no problem.
Problem, my youngest graduated from high school this weekend and so Friday we had Mass for them (with DH’s choir singing) so I couldn’t pick it up then. So I called to be sure when they opened Saturday and that the printer was there. I was told it was and was tagged for me and that they opened at 8 AM.
So Saturday morning Anna and I got up, and got to the store at 8:45. It was locked up tight — they open at 9. But we did get the printer and got home approximately 5 minutes before she had to be at school. This left her barely enough time to change.
Needless to say the printer didn’t get installed till yesterday and I only learned how to use it last night.
Oh and while the graduation went off great, we had another one of those open.closed mix-ups with where we had made reservations for lunch. The conversation went like this:
“I’d like to make reservations for lunch on Saturday.”
“Great.”
“For six at 12:30.”
Then I gace my name.
Did you see the words “Oh we aren’t open for lunch on Saturday.” anywhere?????
I didn’t. But they were locked up tight with only the janitor there. I think it will be awhile until we go back there.
Am I nuts or something expecting employees of s business to know what the business hours are?
Later today a scan and an update on my Sunday stitching.
