You’ll have to wait until May 15 to see my project, but in the meantime take a look at these wonder plastic canvas projects provide by a number of different designers.

THe idea was developed and coordinated by my friend Diane of CraftPod. She’s long been a fan of using plastic canvas in ways that are beyond the usual design. I’ve featured many of them on this blog (click on the category plastic canvas under techniques to find them.

You can visit her blog post to get the complete list of designers, days when the projects go up, and links to the blogs.

I have been trying to find free plastic canvas books, ect. any ideals on where I can find some?

  2. says

I don’t know about any books, but on this blog you can find links and posts with many free patterns. Just put ‘plastic canvas’ in the search box.

You can also successfully use whole stitch patterns for cross stitch and charts designed for perforated paper on plastic canvas. Those might be some other searches you might try.

I am looking for some kind of sealer for my plastic canvas projects. Possible waterproof that will not cause the yarn to bleed and will eliminate the yarn from pilling and shedding. Does a product or process exist or is it only in my dreams.

  4. says

Only in your dreams I’m afraid. The best way to deal with pilling is to shave the pills off, but clearly that’s after the fact. There is a book from the 70’s called Washable & Dryable Needlepoint that you might look for. If you followed the advice in it, you might have stuff that would work. However short of using waterproof materials I can’t think of a way to make waterproof needlepoint.

    Keep Stitching,
