Saturday Stitching Treat

May 2, 2009

woodcut rose needlepoint chart by Janet Perry

The chart above is a little treat for your stitching Saturday.

It’s small, about 40 stitches by 50 stitches, so it’s small enough to make a charming pin or small ornament.

The design is taken from a woodcut which is why it’s pretty much an outline and only requires two colors of thread.

You could do it in your choice of techniques: needlepoint, beading, cross stitch. It’s also a great little design to use to try out a new thread or canvas.

I have some 20 count silk gauze (new from Kreinik) that I think I’m going to try this with later today.

Happy Saturday Stitching!
