Connie Barwick, the Cross Stitch Guide at About.com, just published this delightful abstract chart. I just love it. It would make great needlepoint, especially as a stash project.
With all the different spaces, you could also do some fun things with different stitches.
I’m going to make one and I’d like to challenge you to do one as well.
Here are the rules:
- Use Connie’s chart (link above) as the basis for a needlepoint
- Use threads from your stash in the color scheme of your choice.
- Use any stitches you like, but it must be needlepoint, not counted cross stitch.
- Send me via email a scan or photo of your stitched project by July 2, 2009.
If you haven’t adapted a cross stitch chart to needlepoint before, check out my post about it.
For July 4, we’ll have a gallery post of the submissions and one of them will be picked to be the winner. That winner will get a free copy of my book, Needlepoint Trade Secrets.
Happy stitching!
