Stirling Tool Tote – 12 Days of Christmas Gifts

bargello needlepoint tool tote featuring Gumnut threads in Stirling leather bag

Ever since I saw these totes early this year I have loved them. I adore the colors (red, lilac, black, fuchsia, and line) and the texture of the leather. They come fully lined (this one has a great Bargello print) and can be finished in about 30 minutes once your stitching is done.

Talk about a great fast, gift.

I started stitching this piece one evening and finished it the next evening. Putting the Bargello into the tote took me another half hour.

Finishing is really simple. Trim your needlepoint so you have a three thread margin. Clip the corners so some of the bulk is gone (don’t clip them too close, leave a thread or so margin. Remove the paper from the adhesive. Center the needlepoint on it and tuck the eduges of the canvas under the edges of the leather.

That’s it. You’re done and the tote is ready to go.

Not bad for an elegant, hand-made gift.

P.S. If you like this design, your shop will be able to pick it up for free at Custom House’s booth at TNNA next month. The model will be there as well. It uses all Gumnut Threads in this great family of colors I mentally call the “demin wash” family.
