A lovely example of Color through Gold, this Two-color Gobelin Stripe is easier than it looks.
The columns of Gobelin over two threads alternate and each is composed of blocks of metallic and colored thread. The great look of this block happens because the threads alternate across zig-zag horizontal rows.
It finishes the point begun with Lazy Roman.
You will need these threads:
- metallic thread
- overdyed thread
Although you can start this pattern anywhere but you might find it easiest to start at one side.
The blocks of threads are not even. Metallic blocks have three stitches. Colored blocks have five stitches. Because of this, the metallic blocks will line up in the center of the colored blocks. You can see this in the graph below.
